Gloomy Weather, Gloomy Mind: A Personal Reflection on Life Changes

I’m skipping today’s WordPress prompt, it feels a bit repetitive.
So instead, I just wanted to share what’s been on my mind.

The weather has been gloomy these past few days, and I’ve noticed something about myself, I tend to mirror it. When it’s sunny, I feel energetic and positive. But when the skies turn dull, my mood follows the same path.

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” — Aristotle

Lately, I’ve also been reflecting on how much my life has changed over the past few years. With all these shifts, I sometimes feel like I haven’t fully caught up yet, as if I’m still trying to adapt while everything around me keeps moving forward. It makes me question whether I’m doing enough, or if I’m falling behind.

For example, I have realized that I have 2 distinct personalities, one is negative and one is positive. Both are strong in their own rights. There’s a fierce clash between these 2 and I’m curious to see what happens. God has helped me and I trust Him with this.

I’ve also been thinking about my future especially about finding a life partner. There’s been a delay, and sometimes it feels like everyone around me is moving ahead while I’m standing still. Maybe, God thinks I’m not yet ready for marriage or He’s arranging a girl who’ll be a correct match to me.

I have not had many friends and even the ones I do have don’t always feel like they truly understand me. So, I wished to God to give me a perfect partner who will also be greatest friend for me. Someone who understands me without needing too many explanations.

I do believe that things will eventually fall into place. But I also know that one of my biggest challenges is my own mind. It can be rebellious at times, even chaotic. If I had mastered it earlier, maybe things would have been different. Still, I’m working on it, slowly, consistently.

That is not an easy task, I’m still working on it and that is a task which doesn’t end.

  2. I think we all have similar feelings at times; seeming to mirror the weather. As within so without they say…or vice versa. 😊 As far as the two personalities you mentioned, I have found from my own experience that the one you feed, the one you nurture, will be the one that wins. Wishing for you the companionship you desire and peace; deep and lasting peace.
