Breaking Free from the Excuse of Perfect Timing

Daily writing prompt
What is the best excuse you have heard lately?

I always used to think that every task had a “right time” to start, and that I should wait until that moment arrived.

Looking back, I realize it was just my procrastination disguised as patience.

I realized this much later in life.

I’m trying to overcome it, but I haven’t been completely successful yet.

I’ve learned that the only real solution is simple: “do it now”, whatever “it” is.

I’ve made some progress, but it’s still a long journey.

If I can overcome this habit, I’ll be happier because I’ll know I’ve taken a meaningful step forward in my life’s journey.

Any useful tips…. I’ll be glad to try them….

  1. Hi,

I am also working on staying in the present and pressure myself. Coming from Indian background, we were asked to be always be perfect and top notched of a person; which in reality is impossible because to do so, you will have to stop feeling anything emotionally and continue to be a robot. I love my culture but we don’t have to carry everything with us to feeling overwhelmed in the present time.

    1. True, we have to leave the past and focus on the task ahead. Thank you for the encouragement. 😀🙏

      1. You welcome, not necessarily erase the past because that’s what made u but to also exist in the present and value ourselves. I know we often blame ourselves by saying “i m lazy” but it’s all about the mental game too..unloading a little so, you can feel lighter and happier 😊

      2. Yep, I’m on that unloading part right now which is very hard than expected. But I’ll prevail & succeed. Training and disciplining mind is tough and it has to be achieved little by little from childhood…..
