Success Is the Progressive Realization of a Worthy Ideal

How do you define success in life?

First sentence that come into my mind when I first read this question is

Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal

This was popularized by Earl Nightingale and it carries a profound meaning.

In my case, I didn’t have any worthy ideal most of my life. God gave the direction and goal. I’m most grateful for that. And now I’m continuing in that path.

Self control (upto a certain extent) is necessary in life. With this we can realize the worthy ideal and be successful.

If we blindly follow our minds, which are sometimes like monkeys performing random, erratic and chaotic actions, we may never achieve success. We need self-control first, followed by motivation, determination, hard work, and so on.

There’s also sacrifice which is necessary to achieve our greatest goals in life. As they say, “No sacrifice. no victory”.

This is my definition of success.
