Life’s Biggest Milestones: Building a House and Getting Married

What’s something you’ve done that your past self would be proud of?

If my past self got to know what I have achieved, he would be proud indeed. The thing is, my past self didn’t have any particular direction in life. He was just going with the flow.

For example, owning a house. My past self would never even have imagined that I would buy a house and manage all the finances associated with it.

There’s a Kannada saying: “Mane katti nodu, maduve maadi nodu,” meaning, “Build a house and see; get married and see.” The saying reflects how building a house and getting married are two of life’s most challenging responsibilities. Both require significant money, planning, patience, compromise, and hard work. Some experiences teach us how challenging they are only when we go through them ourselves.

By the grace of God, I’ve somehow completed the first challenge. The second is yet to come, not just once, but twice, as I hope to see both my marriage and my sister’s marriage take place.

I hope God continues to shower His blessings on us and that everything will be good.

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya. 🙏
