Have some cash in the local currency with you, but keep it safe. Try to keep your money in multiple places so that if you lose some, you still have money kept somewhere else.

Be aware of yourself and your surroundings at all times. Thieves and fraudsters can be anywhere.

Know about the available travel facilities and their charges. Sometimes, people may charge you extra because they think you are new to the city and don’t know the prices.

A little preparation can make exploring a new city much safer and more enjoyable.
