My Simple Home Workout: Yoga, Jumping Jacks and Dumbbells

What are five simple exercises to do at home?

View all responses

You see, I had severe neck and back pain a few months ago, mainly because I was spending long hours sitting in front of a computer.

So, the exercises and yoga poses I do are usually related to these problems.

Some of the exercises and poses I practice include Cat-Cow, Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), Sphinx Pose, and Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose).

Before starting, I usually do jumping jacks for about a minute to get my body moving and active.

Sometimes I also do a little dumbbell workout. I have a pair of 5 kg dumbbells at home, and I do arm exercises once or twice a week.

These are simple exercises that I can do at home without needing much equipment.

  1. I work out at home also. I use dumbbells mostly and I have a handheld chest exerciser thing I use and an ab roller. I do it 4-5 days out of 7. I also finish up with cardio and I used to do jumping jacks but not anymore because I injured my knee doing them. I found for me that are pretty high impact on my knees.

    1. In my case, I had severe back pain for some time, so I stopped heavy workouts for almost a year. At that time I started yoga. I feel better now and no back pain, so I started dumb bells and other work outs. I can say that I cannot completely bend like I used to before…. it’s all part of life, isn’t it 😅
