Exploring Krynn: My Dream Dragonlance Vacation

Daily writing prompt
Which fictional world would be the most fun to vacation in?

I want to have a vacation in the Dragonlance world, especially on the continent of Krynn. I want to visit places like Solace, Palanthas, Kendermore, and Mount Nevermind.

I want to taste Otik’s famous “Spiced Potatoes” in the town of Solace. I can already imagine sitting at the Inn of the Last Home, enjoying the food while listening to stories about adventurers and their journeys.

I want to visit the Great Library of Astinus in the city of Palanthas and see the vast collection of knowledge about the history of Krynn. As someone who has always been fascinated by the lore of this world, visiting the library would be an incredible experience.

I also want to visit Kendermore, but I’ll definitely be careful with my belongings there. ๐Ÿ˜…

Meeting the gnomes would be another very unique experience in my life. I probably wouldn’t understand half of what they were saying, but I would still love to see them and experience their fascinating world. I want to visit Mount Nevermind just the same.

And there are many more places I would love to visit. It would be wonderful to travel across Krynn, see the places I have always imagined in my mind, and experience this incredible world for myself.

For someone who grew up imagining these places through the stories and no, I didn’t play the Dragonlance roleplaying game – visiting Krynn would feel less like an ordinary vacation and more like finally stepping into a world I have known in my imagination for years.

  1. Youโ€™ve already packed your imagination for Krynn, so I have one suggestion: add Uganda to your real-world map.

After tasting Otikโ€™s famous spiced potatoes, imagine sitting beside the Nile, trekking through Bwindiโ€™s ancient forest to meet mountain gorillas, exploring Kibaleโ€™s chimpanzees, or standing beneath a powerful waterfall.

Krynn may have gnomes, dragons and legends, but Uganda has its own kind of magic-and you can actually experience it.

Maybe your next adventure should be in the Pearl of Africa.

The way you brought Solace, Palanthas, Kendermore, and Mount Nevermind to life shows how deeply Dragonlance has lived in your imagination.
