Small Habits, Big Results: What Changed My Life the Most

What’s one habit that has improved your life the most?

I’ll tell you about two habits that improved my life the most:

1. Reading books

Reading books has changed my life profoundly. Books are one of the greatest sources of knowledge and wisdom. They nourish the mind, broaden our perspective, and teach us lessons we might never experience ourselves.

There’s a beautiful saying in Kannada: “ದೇಶ ಸುತ್ತಿ ನೋಡು, ಕೋಶ ಓದಿ ನೋಡು” (Desha Sutthi Nodu, Kosha Odi Nodu), which means, “Travel the country, read books.” I believe both are equally important. Travel teaches us through experience, while books allow us to learn from countless lives, cultures, and ideas.

Books have been my lifelong friends, and I’m grateful for every lesson they’ve given me.

2. Drinking lukewarm water in the morning

The second habit is drinking about 1.25 liters of lukewarm water soon after waking up.

I used to struggle with constipation, which is a common problem these days. Since I started this habit, my mornings have become much better. It has helped me stay hydrated early in the day and made my bowel movements more regular. Of course, I continue drinking water throughout the day as well.

I’ve also noticed that my skin looks healthier and smoother, which I believe is partly due to staying well-hydrated.
