How My Energy Changes Throughout the Day (And Affects My Work)

When do you feel most productive?

Mornings, without a doubt.

When I wake up feeling refreshed, my mind is clear and focused. That’s when I can do my best work. There’s a natural momentum in the morning that makes starting and continuing tasks easier.

By noon, that energy begins to fade. I notice a dip in focus, and work starts to feel heavier.

After lunch, it drops further. Drowsiness kicks in, and although I feel like sleeping, I usually resist it. Productivity during this time is a challenge.

Interestingly, evenings bring a second wave of energy. I feel more active again, though not always in a deeply productive way.

I avoid coffee and tea to stay caffeine-free, but I occasionally have green tea in the evening. It contains some caffeine, but much less, and feels manageable.

By night, I’m somewhat active, but not in a way that supports meaningful work. It’s more of a winding-down phase than a productive one.
