Evolution is Wrong? My Honest Take on Erich von Däniken’s Book

I have completed the book “Evolution is Wrong” by Erich Von Daniken. I didn’t read the book literally but I listened to the audio-book of this from amazon audible app.

This author’s book always leaves me in awe after completing the book. The points he presents go in other direction than the direction which normal people take.

The theme of this book on point exactly is “Why only Darwinism is accepted?” There’s evidence that it is not a complete theory and it has flaws. Authors gives all the evidence which contradicts Darwin’s theory.

He discusses about ID – Intelligent Design.

There must be an external influence on the life on earth especially human beings because without this we would not have reached the stage we are now.

And there’s discussion about the great floods and time scale used by all the oldest civilizations or religions like Sumerians, chaldeans, jains & buddhists.

I think the Great Flood occurred alright and each civilization or religion wrote about same thing in a different way and some were newer which took the idea from older story points.

If chameleon changes color for survival, then why are there not any color changing mice?

Why can’t we fly? If evolution is as per Darwin’s theory, then it should have given us wings to give us more chances of survival in the wild, why didn’t it?

Evolution in a way made us the most vulnerable being in this world. For example all animals drink any water they get and why can’t we drink that same water. If we drink it, then we will be sick, will have diarrhea, vomiting sensation, bacterial infection and so on. Evolution should have made us strong, isn’t it?

There’s clearly a change in our DNA or someone changed for intelligence to develop as per the author.

He also presents instances where archaeological findings seem completely inconsistent with Darwin’s theory. For example, there are claims of human bones being discovered in bedrock layers alongside dinosaur fossils. How is that possible? Did humans exist at the same time as dinosaurs?

This goes on continuously in the book and your existing reality will be shattered mercilessly….😅

These ideas are presented in a way that challenges conventional narratives and encourages readers to think beyond standard explanations. For me, this book wasn’t about accepting or rejecting a theory outright, it was about expanding perspective.

I was first introduced to this author through his most famous work, “Chariot of the Gods“. This was mind blowing and taught me to think differently.

Conclusion

At the end, it’s our choice, if we want to believe or not. Our Gods may be alien or external beings not of earth, but they did it and we are here. Whether one agrees or not, the important thing is to stay curious and open-minded, while also thinking critically about what we accept as truth.

  1. For me, reading it is for entertainment, because I have other beliefs about how humans exist on earth and where it came from. Interesting review, Girish.
