The Real Meaning of Keeping a Pet

Daily writing prompt
What animals make the best/worst pets?

To me, there is no such thing as a “best” or “worst” pet.

Every animal comes with its own nature, habits, and needs. What truly matters is how we choose to care for them.

If we truly love our pets, we naturally accept everything that comes with them.

Some pets shed a lot of hair and need daily grooming. Others may require constant attention, training, or special diets. But when there is genuine affection, these responsibilities don’t feel like a burden, they become part of our daily life.

The problem doesn’t lie with the animal. It lies in whether we are prepared to take responsibility.

A pet is not a temporary choice or a passing interest. It is a living being that depends on us completely. If we are not ready to provide proper care, attention, and time, then it’s better not to keep a pet at all or to ensure it is placed in a home where it will be truly cared for.

In the end, every pet is “the best” when it is loved and cared for properly.

Because when love is real, there is no such thing as a “worst” pet.

  2. So beautifully said Girish ji… 🤍
It’s never about the pet being “best” or “worst,” it’s about the love and responsibility we’re ready to give. When that’s real, everything else just falls into place.
