Compliments and Dharma: Finding the Right Balance

Daily writing prompt
What was the best compliment you’ve received?

Anyone’s compliment can be best if we receive in a positive way.

But compliments also have a downside. Too much of them can make us overjoyed and slowly drift us away from reality. In the end, we may lose our grounding.

Everybody likes compliments and it can be compared to a sweet. We wish to eat the sweet more and as it goes on, it’s harmful to us.

So I believe we should do our duty, follow our dharma, and only indulge in compliments a little – just enough, not more.

Best compliment, hmm…someone once complimented about my laziness. Lazy people do the work more efficiently because they can find effective & smart ways to complete the work and then go back to being lazy. This is a positive statement.

  3. Beautifully said Girish ji✨! Compliments as sweets—so true. And that “lazy but smart” thought is really refreshing 😊😄✨
