Slow Travel: Finding Peace on a Bike Ride and Happiness on a Train Journey

Daily writing prompt
You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

If possible, I would like to try all.

But out of all these, I think I will enjoy most riding bike or motor cycle and traveling by train.

I have already traveled by both motorbike & train and I know the feeling.

First of all, bike riding gives a calm and peaceful feeling for me. Of-course it’s thrilling to ride in high speed, but instead of high speed, I like traveling in bike because of the peaceful feeling.

Going in slow speed, gentle air caressing my face, forgetting all the worries of the world, moving on the road without any traffic, gives me a wonderful feeling.

I rode solo most of the time and sometimes rode with my mom or sister. I wonder how it would be traveling with my loved one…🤔

Next comes train travel. I have traveled by train only a handful of times, but I enjoy it very much. I love group travel with friends or family, and for that, I think train journeys are the best.

We can talk, play games, share food, sit together in the same compartment, and enjoy the feeling of togetherness.

So far, I have traveled less on train but would like to do that in future….

Of course, every mode of travel has its own unique moments and experiences.

The way you described that calm, peaceful bike ride feeling—it’s so soothing, I could almost feel it. And yes, train journeys really do have their own kind of warmth and togetherness.

    1. I drive fast when there’s no vehicles and road is empty…. It happens mostly in highways….😅
