Mindfulness and Self-Questioning: My Way of Handling Negativity

Daily writing prompt
What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?

I ask myself “What do you want? And does this task which I’m doing … is it beneficial for my “want” ?”

This question helps me pause and reflect. Most of the time, it brings clarity and helps me get back on track. Not always though, because controlling the mind is still a work in progress for me.

But due to our day-to-day life with it’s so many activities, my mind tend to wander to negative zone.

For example, when driving on busy roads filled with traffic, noise, and people with different attitudes, irritation can arise quickly. Some people drive erratically without considering others on the road. Situations like these can fill the mind with frustration, irritation, or even panic.

This is just a part in daily life. Controlling your mind & feeling is very important in today’s world. Asking question is one way of me coping with negative feelings.

Another important practice is mindfulness – simply noticing when a negative emotion arises.

Sometimes this awareness happens naturally without even asking questions. But that requires stronger mental discipline and presence.
