Technology, Money, and Books: The Three Things I Can’t Live Without

Daily writing prompt
What are three objects you couldn’t live without?

If I had to choose three objects I couldn’t live without, they would be:

It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity – Albert Einstein

First, my daily electronic devices — my mobile, laptop, and internet connection. In today’s world, they are most required for any individual of this world. Almost everyone in this world use these devices and people cannot live without including me.

Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving – Warren Buffet

Second, money. Who doesn’t want money? It is the most basic essential commodity in the world. Of-course, a human can live without money and there are different ways to it, for example living a life of an ascetic. But for normal people, whether in physical form or digital, it represents security and independence. It allows survival and choice.

A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies – George R R Martin

Third, my books and stories. They nourish my mind the way food nourishes the body. They help me think, reflect, and grow. Without these, I would not have the knowledge or wisdom which helped me lead my life. These gave me the courage to move forward even in my darkest days.

  1. I think I’ve read somewhere that what you read makes you who you are. Like what you consume reflects you, whether its food for the body, mind, and soul. Lovely answer, Girish.
