My Leisure Time Habits and What Brings Me Satisfaction

What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?

When I get leisure time, I’ll tell you a habit of mine.

When I get my own free time, this is what usually happens: I start searching for good movies to watch. But I cannot watch just any movie. Something about the movie has to click with me before I decide to watch it. You could say I am very choosy. Because of this, a lot of time goes into just selecting a movie.

At last, even if I choose a movie just for the sake of it and start watching, I don’t feel much satisfaction or enjoyment. The real satisfaction comes when I accidentally discover something that truly interests me and then watch it. Most of my favorite movies were found this way.

Also, today is Ratha Saptami, a special Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Surya, the Sun God. It is celebrated on the seventh day of the bright half of the Magha month and is believed to mark the Sun’s movement towards the northern direction. On this day, Lord Surya is said to begin his journey on a chariot pulled by seven horses, symbolizing energy, time, and life itself. Ratha Saptami reminds us to appreciate the Sun’s importance in our daily lives and to welcome new beginnings with gratitude.

In a way, my leisure time is less about doing many things and more about patiently waiting for something that truly resonates with me.

Ratha Saptami teaches us, the Sun God’s journey on his chariot symbolizes energy and life, reminding us to move forward with gratitude. We are creating and living today because of Sun God, who is none other than SuryaNarayana, Lord Vishnu.
