A Moment of Nostalgia and Reflection

Daily writing prompt
What makes you feel nostalgic?

There are so many instances that make me feel nostalgic. I’ll share a few moments.

School days:

It’s unbelievable how fast time has passed. It feels like only yesterday that I finished school, yet now most of my friends are married and have children of their own. Time truly flies. When I was a kid, I was eager to grow up quickly and become an adult. Now, I feel the opposite—I wish I could remain a child a little longer. Being a kid felt simpler and happier compared to life now.

Moments with my dad:

I miss my father and think of him often. If he were here today, I would have taken such good care of him. After everything he endured throughout his life, I wish I had the chance to look after him now. Sadly, that isn’t possible—it has been six years since he left us. I sometimes feel guilty that I couldn’t do more for him when I should have. The memories I share with him are both nostalgic and painful, but he continues to live on in my heart, always.
