I used to draw and paint a lot during my school days. This prompt suddenly reminded me of an incident from that time.
When I was in primary school, around 5th grade, Pokémon was at its peak. Everywhere you went in school, there was talk about Pokémon. Almost everyone followed it back then.
In our class, it became a daily habit to draw one Pokémon each day. Each of my friends would draw a Pokémon and show it to everyone. I followed that habit too. I even had a 100-page notebook filled entirely with Pokémon drawings.
Eventually, the teachers got wind of this and passed a memo saying anything related to Pokémon was completely banned in school. Sudden raids would happen in the middle of class, where teachers checked our notebooks.
Once, a raid happened and teachers ordered everyone to show their books. They were searching for students who drew Pokémon.
Almost my entire class was caught and punished. Somehow, I escaped. Even now, I feel a bit guilty about it, maybe I should have accepted the punishment along with the rest.
After that, drawing cartoons was mostly limited to home for me. I continued drawing for some time, but gradually, the interest faded away. Today, I don’t draw anymore.
Do you also have a childhood habit like this that slowly disappeared?
