Listening to My Body: Why I Skipped Snacks Today

What snack would you eat right now?

As of now, no snacks for me. I want to give my stomach a little rest today. Instead of munching on something out of habit, I’m choosing to eat only light and easily digestible foods like fruits, small amount rice with rasam, etc…

The reason is simple—yesterday was a non-veg day, which meant extra work for my digestive system. On top of that, I ate late at night because of a family get-together. Eating late can slow digestion and disturb the body’s natural metabolic rhythm, so giving the digestive system a break the next day actually helps it reset. So today feels like the right time to slow down, listen to my body, and allow it to recover.

Sometimes, not eating a snack is also a form of self-care.

  1. True self-care is sometimes saying no to snacks and yes to peace for your stomach.
