Screens Are Everywhere—Here’s How I Stay Sane

Daily writing prompt
How do you manage screen time for yourself?

At night, when I reach home, I’ll literally toss my mobile—onto the bed or a soft cushion—it’s not anger. It’s a quiet ritual. A way of saying, “I’m done for today” and won’t look at it again until I’m ready to sleep.

On weekends, I sometimes try to go screen-free by reading a book or doing something that doesn’t involve any kind of screen. Even when I step out to fetch groceries or other essentials, I often leave my phone behind.

Other than that, I’m almost always looking at a screen in some form. Laptop for work. Phone for messages. TV for relaxation.

In today’s digital world, technology is deeply woven into our lives, and it feels genuinely hard to reduce screen time.

What about you? Do you have your own screen-free rituals? Share them in the comments—I’d love to learn from your journey
