Don’t Wait: Why Caring for Family Matters More Than You Think

Describe a family member.

My dad has always been a great inspiration to me. He cared for me with such tenderness, and I’m forever grateful for that. One regret I carry is not being there for him on the last day of his life. That absence weighs on me. I miss him every day, and I’m proud—truly proud—to be his son.

If he were still with me, I would share my successes with him. I know I would have gone even further with his support by my side. I often wish I had been a better son.

So here’s my advice to anyone reading this: cherish your family while they’re here. Don’t wait. Don’t leave room for regret. The time to care is now—because once they’re gone, that silence stays with you for a lifetime.
