Songs, Stories, and Self-Belief

Daily writing prompt
What motivates you?

A few of my motivating factors :

  • Audio songs – Sometimes, all it takes is a powerful audio track. A song that hits just right—whether it’s an anime opening theme or a soulful devotional—can shift my entire mood. Music has this uncanny ability to bypass logic and speak directly to the heart.
  • Anime – Anime, especially in its original Japanese form, has been a constant source of inspiration. The characters, their struggles, their quiet moments of resolve—it’s not just entertainment. Watching someone rise after defeat, protect what they love, or chase a dream against all odds—it makes me want to do the same.
  • Good book – There’s something sacred about a well-written book. It doesn’t just tell a story—it invites you to live inside it. Whether it’s high fantasy or a quiet tale of human resilience, books remind me that words have power. They can heal, provoke, and most importantly, motivate.
  • Movies – Films, especially those that linger long after the credits roll, have a way of reigniting purpose. A single scene, a line of dialogue, or even a background score can make me sit up and say, Yes. I want to do something meaningful.
  • Responsibilities – Then there’s the practical side of life. Family responsibilities, like paying the home loan EMI 😅 or supporting loved ones, may not feel glamorous—but they’re powerful motivators. They remind us that our actions matter, that someone is counting on us.
  • Self-motivation – And then there’s self-motivation which I feel it in my heart. I feel like God has given me everything and I can achieve anything I put my mind to, I’m brimming with energy & power, I feel like I wanted to do more, but here I’m, doing nothing.
